The Bosch Active Response Technology platform helps reduce the risk of injury to users by combining advanced Bosch sensors and electronics with mechanical injury-prevention systems. The REAXX™ table saw detects human flesh that comes in contact with the blade and rapidly drops the saw blade below the tabletop. This high-speed action helps mitigate the potential of serious user injury and occurs without damaging the blade. After activation, the system can be reset in less than 60 seconds. A dual-activation cartridge enables two incidents before a replacement cartridge is needed.

1. RIVING KNIFE RELEASE LEVER
Lever that allows for adjustments
2. RIVING KNIFE (SPREADER)
Keeps the kerf of the workpiece open as the material is cut. This minimizes the potential of the workpiece binding against the saw blade. It is stored under tabletop when not in use.

We’ve had the Portamate PM7500 for nearly two months. In that time, it has held up well, considering several of us have used it. Even the plastic parts have done well.
Out of the box, the Portamate PM7500 takes about ten minutes to assemble. It took another five minutes to attached the quick release clamps to the bottom of the Bosch saw that we used for this review.
None of us have used a miter saw stand with an integrated light, an outlet strip, or a storage box. At first, we thought they were kind of gimmicky, but they proved to be very useful. The integrated light came in handy when calibrating the blade to the base of the saw, the storage box now holds pencils and pens, and the outlet strip comes in handy for another light or a vacuum.
The Portamate PM7500 is portable with the saw attached, but it is kind of heavy. We now release the quick release clamps to separate the saw from the stand. There is an integrated handle to pull the stand, but make sure to extend the T support up on the opposite side so that it does not drag against the floor.
For finish carpenters, the Portamate PM7500 would do well as a field saw stand or be equally at home in your garage or shop. It has a base that can support up to 500 pounds, so it would be great for framers, too!
