The patented mixing system can mix up plaster or other mortar compound including aggregates even with a cordless drill (18v). Working well with both cordless (3/8” hex shaft) and corded drills (9/16” hex shaft), it is a must have for job sites where no electricity is available and a cordless drill is the only option.
Where the traditional metal vein mixer is known for damaging buckets and leaving unmixed material, the mix m8 makes edge to edge mixing easier and the smooth ends won’t tear up the bucket. This design eliminates the need to stop and stir unmixed materials, which results in significantly reduced mixing times.
Clean-up is fast and easy, simply finish with a quick spin in clean water bucket or knock off dried materials afterwards.

Central Pneumatic 3-Way Quick Coupling Manifold (Review)

This is Central Pneumatic’s 3-Way Quick Coupling Manifold, and it works well.
The instructions on the package of the manifold instruct the user to connect it to a 3/8 inch line. This would work for anyone that runs their compressor line from their truck or van, but I know that many of you use 1/4 inch fittings.
I decided to forego the 3/8 inch line part and found a 3/8″ to 1/4″ coupling, and ran it off my trusty Rolair JC10. It would be great if the manifold came with the coupling and fitting used in this review, but I’m sure they wanted to keep costs down.
(Assembled with a bit of Teflon. Make sure not to torque too much, as brass fittings are quite soft.)
I can’t speak to the durability of the manifold, as I have only been using it for a week, but it looks like it will hold up well.

Bosch ROS20VSK 120-Volt Variable Speed Random Orbit Sander Kit

OSHLUN MMC-0110

Over the past two weeks, we have had the pleasure of evaluating these Quick-Fit Bi-Metal blades from OSHLUN. The model number is MMC-0110 (Currently in limited release).
According to Michael Herinckx at OSHLUN, “the MMC Series blades are an open back holder blade based off of our original MMA Series Uni-Fit holder, but modified to allow fitting on tool free machines that require the open back blade design.” Michael also informed us that, in addition to the modifying the holder on these blades, material changes have been made to improve performance.
We used one OSHLUN MMC blade to cut and shave a portion of a post that was protruding out. Total cuts were 50+. Immediately afterwards, we made this surgical cut into a piece of damaged siding. The photo on the right contains the photo of the blade that we used. Next to it is a new OSHLUN MMC blade for comparison. The OSHLUN blade performed well as a plunge blade, plane, and reciprocating blade to cut the several nails embedded in the post.
Many blades on the market today only last for a few cuts, then start losing their teeth, but we did not lose a single tooth with any of the OSHLUN MMC blades. We took three blades and made one cut with one blade, five cuts with the second, and ten cuts with the third blade. If you see the photo in the middle, the left blade has ten cuts, the middle-left has five cuts, the middle-right has one cut, and the right blade is a new blade for comparison. Basically, with the exception of the amount of paint on the blades, all of the teeth on all four blades are in the same condition. The photo on the right is a close-up of a blade with ten cuts. If we did a test of how many nails a single OSHLUN MMC blade could make, we’d say it could safely cut several hundred nails.

Construction: Build quality is no surprise. It’s exactly what I’d expect from a Bosch tool built in Switzerland. From casting to assembly, it’s superb.
Power: Strong and refined. The Bosch MX30 has a soft start, then builds up to the set speed. Even though it has a lot of power, it is so refined, power delivery is consistent and buttery smooth.
Ergonomics: The Bosch MX30 has a very slim body that feels very organic. Bosch placed rubber pads on contact areas to increase grip and user comfort.
Mount pattern: Bosch OIS. If you’ve used other oscillating tools, you’ll understand when I say that the OIS pattern will become the industry standard. I believe the OIS pattern is the most elegant design today.

Rolair JC10

Every once in a while, I get to review a product that truly makes my life better. The Rolair JC10 is one such tool.
I will assume that the main reason for reading this post is to find out if the Rolair JC10 is truly quiet as the videos you’ve seen of it on the internet. Well, I have no hesitation in saying that it’s much quieter. Those videos on the internet truly do no justice in explaining how quiet this compressor is.
How quiet is the Rolair JC10?
The JC10 sounds like a small air conditioner.
I remodel homes and buildings for a living, so I need a compressor that can drive finish, palm, and framing nailers, and drive those nailers without annoying the heck out of the neighbors.
I won’t cover how the JC10 drives finish nails, as I do not know any finish carpenter that can nail fast enough for the Rolair JC10 to run out of air. So, if you use finish, brad, or pinners on a daily basis, stop reading, and get yourself a Rolair JC10. You’ll love it — I promise.
If you build decks, remodel, or make additions, then the Rolair JC10 is the perfect compressor for you. It is strong enough to drive framing nails for a room addition, drive nails for joist hangers with a palm nailer, and, yes, even do sheathing.
